Laghu-bhÄgavatÄmá¹›ta is a Gauá¸iya Vaiṣṇava theological work written by RÅ«pa GosvÄmÄ«. He calls this text as an abbreviated version of Bá¹›had-bhÄgavatÄmá¹›ta, which was written by Sanatana GosvÄmÄ«, the elder brother of RÅ«pa GosvÄmÄ«. In this work, he gives detailed explanations of various forms of Kṛṣna, his expansions as Puruá¹£ÄvatÄras, various LÄ«lÄvatÄras, and different ManvantarÄvatÄras.
Also, he establishes the supremacy of Kṛṣna over other forms of the Lord, providing substantial proofs from scriptures, and refutes opposing theories and interpretations. Then he describes various ideal devotees possessing different rasas for the Lord and grades them, ultimately showing the superiority of Gopīs over others.
