Viṣṇu Sahasra Nāma Stotra is famous, and many commentaries have been written to explain the meaning of the names of Viṣṇu. Baladeva Vidyābhūṣana’s commentary is unique for explaining the names in terms of Kṛṣṇa’s pastimes. This follows from the proposition that Kṛṣṇa includes all other forms of the Lord. Thus all names of the Lord are Kṛṣṇa’s names.
