Heroes of Ancient India has been illustrated and adapted by Bharat Das, from the book, Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, written by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.. Long, long ago, an evil and powerful race of aliens, the Daityas, plotted from outer space to invade and take over the Earth. Using their mystic powers, they entered the wombs of the queens of all the ruling dynasties and were able to take control of the planet to carry out their diabolical plan. The Daityas so thoroughly oppressed the planet that Mother Earth herself (Bhumi Devi) tearfully prayed to Krishna, the supreme controller and Lord of the Universe, to relieve her of the burden. In response to her prayers, Krishna agreed to take birth in the illustrious Yadu Dynasty, along with many great heroes, to annihilate the demonic hordes.
