Am?ta has several meanings, the simplest being �nectar.� But am?ta also means �immortality,��deathlessness.� V??? means �message,� speech, sound (specifically, Vedic sound), words, or teachings. Thus am?ta v??? means �the teachings that deliver the nectar of immortality.� All living beings hanker for blissful immortality, saddled as they are by the miseries of this world. It is spiritual nectar that produces immortality. Such nectar is not found in this world; it is a product of the introduction spiritual world.
